10.2 Fan
The module is equipped depending on the variant with a different number of
fans, in which always a fan is at the top side of the enclosure (underneath
the cover).
The following variants with cooling element are equipped additionally with a
fan on the bottom side of the enclosure: D3-DU 36x/A-..-0x
CAUTION!
The cover of the fan at the top side of the enclosure must not be opened
during operation to guarantee a perfect cooling.
Caution
When operating the unit, make sure no objects extend into the fan; other-
wise, it may result in property damage.
The fan is checked by the module itself. If the fan is faulty, a messages is
generated internally. This can be evaluated in the application. If no evalua-
tion is done the fan must be checked manually each year for correct opera-
tion.
10.2.1 Service life fan

) depends on the ambient temperature at which
the DU 3xx/x is used.

Information
Because the given data is a typical service life (L

) it is recommended to
replace the fan at 70 % of this time to avoid an unscheduled loss during op-
eration.
10.2.2 Changing the fans
The fan at the top side of the enclosure can be replaced without tools. Vari-
ants with fan on the bottom side of the enclosure must be dismounted of the
control cabinet, because changing the fan is only possible via the rear side
of the enclosure. The fans may only be replaced with a fan of the same type.
