6 Connections and wiring
WARNING!
Wait for approx. 3 minutes after disconnecting the supply voltage so that the
system is unloaded and safe working is possible.
6.1 General wiring information
Cable specification
Type, diameter, and material of the connected lines are specified by
● the manufacturer-specific data sheet of the utilized mating connector
● national and international installation regulations,
● type and size of the power protection and
● the component that is to be connected.
Core-end sleeves are recommended for braided wires.
Cross section (if the DU 3xx/x is not supplied via D3-DP 3xx/x)
Refer to the manufacturer-specific data sheet of the of the female connec-
tors used for type, cross-section and material.
The actual permissible wire cross-section is specified by the electrical condi-
tions of the connected equipment an the female connectors used:
● Max. load current and required heat dissipation through the connected
wire at maximum ambient temperature.
● Permissible voltage drop for error-free operation of the connected equip-
ment.
(Only for D3-DU 3x5/x) General wiring information
Information
● It is recommended to keep signal lines for connections of safe digital in-
puts and contact monitoring (EDM) separate.
6.2 Power supply
The DU 3xx/x can be supplied with 24 V from the D3-DP 3xx/x. The connec-
tion is realized via the hinged-mounted supply rails attached with torx screws
placed underneath the cover flap.
