Danger to personnel due to increased overtravel!
This output suppressor circuit is not designed to be safety-related!
Certain errors of this protective circuit cannot be detected automatically by
the control. Therefore, in the worst case, a limiting voltage of approx. -0.7 V
(comparable with an usual free-wheeling diode) must be assumed! In such
an error case, the drop-out time of the inductive actuator can be significantly
prolonged!
If the drop-out time of the inductive actuator is relevant from the point of view
of the overall reaction time of a safety function, a diagnosis of the actuator
switching time must be implemented at application level. For this purpose, it
is advisable, for example, to monitor the delay time of an actuator read-back
contact (e.g. with EDM module) or a regular automatic check of the maxi-
mum permitted overtravel of a motor axis.

If the DU 3xx/xis equipped with a safety control (D3-DU 3x5/x), it offers safe
relay outputs (terminal X24A) on the bottom side, for driving relays.
