9 Diagnosis
In addition to general status indication via LEDs, the DU 3xx/x provides a
display for indicating status information and error codes of the CPU module.
During startup at the DU 3xx/x the following error states are possible:
Error code Meaning
00A8 / 00AE No boot media (CFast card) available
Other error codes Hardware error
(Only for D3-DU 3x5/x) Diagnosis
The diagnosis of the safety control can only be done on a connected PC with
the programming tool SafeEdit. For further information about the error codes
of the safety control see chapter "Displaying error messages" of the pro-
gramming tool SafeEdit.
9.1 Status report
To store the status data of the control use the status report. This can be exe-
cuted directly via the display of the module.
The function "Write statereport" can be executed any time and can be stored
either on a USB stick or locally on the CFast card.
Proceed as follows:
1) If desired connect the USB stick on the DU 3xx/x.
2) Select <CPU-STATUS> - Menu- CP C-4 Service - Statereport on
the display and choose the desired storage location for the statusreport.
3) Press ENTER to store the statusreport in the following path of the
choosen storage medium:
Local on CFast: /masterdisk/protocol/statusreport
USB-Stick: root folder
After writing the statusreport, the control returns automatically to the main
operation mode it was in.
9.2 Crashreport
If a system error occurs (e.g. "unhandled exception"), a crashreport file will
be created automatically, and this will be stored on the CFast card. During
the next start-up, the control will check if a new file is available. If there is
one, the respective messages will be set in the message system. Generally,
the messages should be confirmed. The crashreport file can be saved on a
usb stick over the operating device of the control.
