5 Mounting and installation instructions
The electrical wiring must only be carried out by qualified electricians.
WARNING!
If the DU 3xx/x is supplied by a D3-DP 3xx/x you have to wait up to 3 min-
utes after switching-off until no more dangerous residual voltage is at the
d.c. link. Only after verification of absence of voltage the supply rails may be
opened and the remaining covers can be opened.
WARNING!
Hazard throug electrical shock!
It is allowed only to mount a D3-DP 3xx/x on the right side of the DU 3xx/x.
On the left side never mount a device!
5.1 EMC requirements
The DU 3xx/x is designed for industrial environments EMC . A prerequisite is
that electromagnetic compatibility of the overall system is ensured by taking
appropriate measures.
Information
The installation must be carried out e.g. in accordance to EN 60204-1
chapter "Electromagnetic compatibility".
The essential EMC measures are already implemented in the design of the
devices in the form of optimised housing shielding, printed circuit board lay-
out, filter measures and selection of suitable connectors with shield plate.
The following measures must also be observed:
● Power lines and "switching lines" have to be wired separately.
● All contactors in the environment of the DU 3xx/x must be equipped with
suitable suppressors.
● The EMC-compliant installation of inverters has to be ensured. Encoder
lines and communication lines must be shielded on both ends. For RT
ethernet cables an additional shield is necessary.
● Signal cables and power cables from inverters must be routed in sepa-
rate cable ducts. The distance of the cable ducts must be at least 10
mm.
