Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentorinstallinganoptionaldeviceintheserver,youneedtoslidethe
serveroutfromtherackenclosure,turnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,anddisconnectthepower
cordsandallexternalcables.
Toremovethesystemmanagementboardandbackplaneassembly,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Removethepowersupplies(see“Removingahot-swappowersupply”onpage98).
Step2.Removethefancagecover(see“Removingthefancagecover”onpage82).
Step3.Removethesystemmanagementboardcover(see“Removingthesystemmanagementboard

Step4.Disconnectallofthecablesfromthesystemmanagementboard.
