havetoreturntheswitchtothepreviousposition.
Theuserpasswordoverrideswitchdoesnotaffecttheadministratorpassword.
Administratorpassword
Ifanadministratorpasswordisset,youmusttypetheadministratorpasswordforaccesstothefullSetup
utilitymenu.Youcanuseanycombinationof6to20printableASCIIcharactersforthepassword.
Attention:Ifyousetanadministratorpasswordandthenforgetit,thereisnowaytochange,override,
orremoveit.Youmustreplacethesystemboard.
UsingtheBootManager
UsethisinformationfortheBootManager.
TheBootManagerprogramisabuilt-in,menu-drivenconfigurationutilityprogramthatyoucanuseto
temporarilyredefinethefirststartupdevicewithoutchangingsettingsintheSetuputility.
TousetheBootManagerprogram,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.Turnofftheserver.
Step2.Restarttheserver.
Step3.Whentheprompt<F1>Setupscreenisdisplayed,movecursorRightKeytoselectBootpage,
pressEnter.
Step4.UsetheUparrowandDownarrowkeystoselectBootOption,thenselectanitemfromthemenu
andpressEnter.
Thenexttimetheserverstarts,itreturnstothestartupsequencethatissetintheSetuputility.
UsingtheTMM
TheTMMisasecondgenerationofthefunctionsthatwereformerlyprovidedbythebaseboardmanagement
controllerhardware.Itcombinesserviceprocessorfunctions,videocontroller,andremotepresencefunction
inasinglechip.
TheTMMsupportsthefollowingbasicsystems-managementfeatures:
•Alerts(in-bandandout-of-bandalerting,PETtraps-IPMIstyle,SNMP,e-mail).
•Automaticmicroprocessordisableonfailureandrestartinatwo-microprocessorconfigurationwhenone
microprocessorsignalsaninternalerror.Whenoneofthemicroprocessorsfail,theserverwilldisablethe
failingmicroprocessorandrestartwiththeothermicroprocessor.
•AutomaticServerRestart(ASR)whenPOSTisnotcompleteortheoperatingsystemhangsandthe
operatingsystemwatchdogtimertimes-out.TheTMMmightbeconfiguredtowatchfortheoperating
