Create, edit, and manage messages
Linx 10
Time Format—displays the Select Time Format screen where you can change the
selected Time Format.
Time Offset—you can use this option to add or subtract a fixed time difference (positive
or negative) from the correct time. If the correct time is 16:00 and the time offset is –2
hours, the time that is printed in the message is 14:00. Use the keypad to enter a value, or
use the plus and minus buttons to adjust the value.
Positive/Negative Offset—select either Positive or Negative.
Time Locale—displays the Language screen. The printer uses the time format for the
language selected on this screen. You can use this option to change the time format that
the printer applies to the field.
The other field options are the same as those for a Text field (see ‘Edit a Text field’ on
page 20).
3 Select the required options and touch the Exit button to return to the Editor screen in edit
mode.
4 Touch the Exit button to return to the Editor screen where you can add other fields and save
or discard the changes to your message.
3.6.6 Move a field
Sometimes you must move a field within a message. For example, if you add a new field that
overlaps an existing field, you must move the new field to correct the problem.
1 On the Home screen, touch the Message Store button. Find and select the required message.
2 Touch the Edit button to display the Editor screen, which shows the content of your message.
3 Touch the field that you want to move to display the Editor screen. The selected field is
highlighted in yellow.
4 You can use the arrow buttons to move the selected field, or touch and drag the field, within
the limits set by the selected message style (see ‘Change the message style’ on page 17).
5 When your changes are complete, press the Exit button to display the Editor screen.
6 Save or discard the changes.
3.6.7 Delete a field
1 On the Home screen, touch the Message Store button. Find and select the required message.
2 Touch the Edit button to display the Editor screen, which shows the content of your message.
3 Touch the field that you want to delete. The selected field is highlighted in yellow on the
Editor screen.
4 Touch the Delete button. The field is removed from the message preview.
5 On the Editor screen, save your message or discard the changes.
3.7 Manage messages
You can manage the messages that are stored in the printer. You can make a copy of a message and
use the copy as a base for a new message. You can change the name of a message or delete messages
that are not needed.
