10.5 MAINTENANCE EVERY 250 HOURS
Perform this maintenance in tandem with maintenance every 50/100 hours.
[1] CHECKING/REFILLING OIL IN TRAVEL MOTOR REDUCTION GEAR CASE
• The parts and oil are at high temperature immediately after the engine is stopped, and may
cause serious burns. Wait for the temperature to go down before starting the operation.
• If there is still pressure remaining inside the case, the oil or plug may fly out. Loosen the plug
slowly to release the pressure.
• For details of using oil specified, see “Maintenance 7.1 Use of Fuel, Coolant and Lubricants
According to Ambient Temperature”.
• Use seal tape, etc. at the thread of the filler plug to stop the oil leak and securely tighten the
plug after refilling with the oil.
• Prepare a container to catch drain oil.
• Prepare a hexagon wrench.
The diagram on the right shows the left travel motor reduction gear
case.
1. Move the machine forward and reverse, set so that plug (F) is at
the top, with plug (F) and plug (P) perpendicular to the ground.
2. Using a hexagon wrench, remove plug (G) and check that the oil
level is within a range from the bottom of the plug hole to a point
10 mm below it.
3. If the oil level is low, remove plug (F) and add oil through the
hole of plug (F).
• Add oil until oil overflows from the hole of plug (G).
• Wipe off the oil completely if spilled.
4. After checking oil level or adding oil, install plugs (F) and (G)
securely.
