Pick and carry operation is a very unstable and dangerous practice; it is prohibited, in genreal.
Where such an operation is un-avoidable, strictly adhere the limits in the "Rated total load table
for pick and carry operation" and the specified pick and carry traveling posture. Also note that
the "Rated total load table for pick and carry operation" only presents the load applicable to
traveling on level and solid surface.
Any faulure to observe these safety precautions for pick and carry operation may cause an
accident resulting in death or serious injury.
[2] NOTICE FOR THE OPERATING LOCATION:
In ground conditions or locations such as below, the machine must not enter or perform pick and carry
operations, as they bring a risk of the machine overturning.
Always survey the road surface or the ground prior to operations and arrange a person to direct the correct
path in any dangerous or low visible places.
• Slopes, soft surfaces such as damp grounds, grounds with many barriers, rough surface such as
riverbeds, or grounds with many bumps to get over.
• Near a deep gutter or a shoulder of a road.
• In water or fords, snowy surfaces, or frozen roads.
[3] NOTICE FOR OPERATIONS:
Operations as below shall be strictly avoided, which may cause a risk of overturning the machine.
Always be seated in the operator's compartment and exercise a pick and carry operation most carefully.
• Crane operations during traveling are strictly prohibited. Always keep the pick and carry posture as
recommended.
• The load to hoist cannot be kept in an elevated position. Keep that hoisted load close to the surface so
that shaking is avoided.
• Sudden start and stop, and sharp course change must be strictly avoided. They make the hoisted load
shaking and cause a dangerous condition.
Always set the travel speed selector switch to the "Low" position and keep the engine speed low to
provide slow traveling.
• Strictly avoided travelling over bumps. Such practices may overturn the machine. Always make a detour
to stay away from such bumps.
