PROBLEM 16
No swing operation, but the engine loads.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
Mechanical hang-up, solenoid failure, wiring fault.
CHECKS
When the applicable switch or handle is enabled is the following displayed:
Swing lockout disengaged
Swing brake disengaged
Yes No
Repair or replace the switch or wiring.
Check for 28 volts DC to the swing lock or brake solenoid valve.
(See Section 3 - Checking Electrical Inputs/Outputs.)
Check the low-pressure source at the swing lock or the brake valve for
35 bar (508 psi) with a 0 to 69 bar (0 to 1,001 psi) gauge.
Repair or replace the swing
lock, brake or gearbox.
More than 17 bar (247 psi)
17 bar (247 psi) or Less
No
Replace the relief valve or pump.
Set the pump low-pressure source relief to 35 bar (508 psi).
Is 35 bar (508 psi) obtained?
Voltage
No Voltage
Consult your Manitowoc dealer or
the Crane Care Lattice Team.
NOTE: The swing lock is installed
on past production cranes only. On
current production cranes the
swing lock has been removed and
the rocker switch has been
removed from the console.
