Operating the Feature Modules
MVP Watt Meter – Use and Operation
The Watt Meter, once it is installed, operates automatically. To use the Watt Meter to its full advantage, read
through the Product Description on pages 27-28 of this manual so that you understand its function.
MVP Sound Pressure Meter – Use and Operation
The Sound Pressure Meter, also operates automatically. You will want to explain its function and the
information it supplies to the customer; i.e., that it measures the sound pressure created by the currently
selected Speakers and thereby demonstrates the relative efficiency of different Speakers. A complete
discussion of the SP can be found on page 29 of this manual.
MVP Speaker Equalizer – Use and Operation
The Speaker Equalizer must be paired with an MVP Sound Pressure Meter, because it uses the SP’s output
during calibration. The following steps outline the calibration process, which must be followed before the SE
can function. Be sure to re-calibrate when new Speakers are added to your display. This is easily
accomplished - simply repeat the steps you followed to do the initial calibration. (See note on page 32)
Once the SE has been calibrated, when it is activated it automatically adjusts the output level to the selected
Speakers to achieve an equal volume for all Speakers. Listeners can evaluate Speaker pairs based on true
sound quality without the bias induced by variance in efficiency.
During calibration, when the Pink Noise (PN) is activated, the LED window of the SE will contain the
following messages:
E9 Equalized – volume of Pink Noise received by MVP Sound Pressure Meter equals 76 dB.
HI High – volume is more than 76 dB.
LO Low – volume is below 76 dB.
Additionally, if unit is improperly connected or if there is a malfunction or disconnection at any time during
operation, the following message will appear:
AU ACM Unit malfunction.
