5.b Bypass Positions
Remember, if a Chain includes components that may require bypassing, (such as processor units
– Amps, EQs, etc.) the first position (A) on the first Module of the Chain (-1) is used as the
bypass position. Instead of connecting a component to that position, you connect the output of
the previous Chain. (Refer to Autosound System Diagrams II and III, pages 90-97 for bypass
connection illustrations, or to page 15 and 66 for more information on bypass.)
6. Component Installation and System Testing Sequence
If you haven’t yet done so, you may want to read ahead to the Operation Section so that you fully
understand how to operate the MVP Control Panel.
As you follow the suggested sequence below, connecting and activating components, you may find a few
switching connections that don’t work properly at first. First follow all wiring for that component and all
associated switching, and check for poor connections, broken wires, crossed hookups, etc. If everything
checks out, refer to the Troubleshooting Section in Appendix C. If you still don’t find the problem use your
ultimate tool: your trusty MTi Customer Service Representative who is waiting to help you at
1-800-426-6844.
Most importantly, don’t get discouraged if things don’t all work properly at first. Your System has a lot
of wiring, but if you follow this testing sequence you’ll have your display working perfectly in a short time.
