MVP Control Module, Rear View
While you don’t need to understand the function of every diode and transistor, there are several items here
that you need to be familiar with.
A. Dual Chain/Feature Module Power Connector – used to plug in the four-conductor
power cable from the first Dual Chain or Feature Module on the MVP Control Panel. This
distributes power to the MVP Control Panel Modules and through them to the Switching
Modules. Do not connect the power supply to this connector.
B. Dual Chain/Feature Module Data Connector – a 20-pin connector used to plug the Data
Cable into the MVP Control Module from the first Dual Chain or Feature Module. This
carries binary information between the MVP Control Module and Dual Chain Modules.
C. MVP Control Module Power Supply Connectors – Two four-pin connector for connecting
a power supply to the MVP Control Module.
D. Serial Connector – a four-pin connector which is a serial interface that allows MTi’s Matrix
System
®
MVP Control Panel to interact with an IBM compatible computer. A log file of
button selections can be created. Call MTi for details.
E. The DIP Switch – The settings of this switch control two System parameters:
Speaker Dropout Delay Timing - this setting is important for ensuring noise-free audio
demonstrations. There are eight delay settings to choose from between .3 seconds and 3.5
seconds. This feature will only affect Chains that have been set up as Speaker Chains. (See
appendix A for complete DIP Switch setting instructions).
Decisions on the setting of this parameter should be made at the time of installation.
However, the settings can be changed any time by resetting the DIP Switch. Refer to
Appendix A.
