For example, the System operator would select a source by entering its number, e.g. tape player 12. The
number 12 will be displayed in the LED window of the main MVP Control Panel. The operator then selects
the source Chain by pressing its button, and the component number 12 transfers to the LED window of the
Source Chain Module. The operator then continues to choose the rest of the components to be
demonstrated, Chain by Chain. As soon as a signal reaches a destination component, (e.g. a source/
Amplifier/Speaker combination), the system will begin to play. Additional components can be added or
changed while the system is operating.
NOTE: The Matrix System
®
has a Speaker Dropout Delay Timing feature which cuts off the signal to the
Speakers for a programmable time period when components are entered or changed to prevent
Speaker popping (See page 122 for more information.)
Matrix System
®
MVP Features
Following is a listing of the main features that help make the Matrix System
®
the most flexible, complete
and simple-to-operate demonstration system available.
Component Selection –
By entering a Component number with the numeric keys on the MVP Control Module, and then pressing a
Chain button, components can be activated.
Display Windows –
Located in the upper right-hand corner of the MVP Control Module and above each button of each Chain
Module is a Display Window. These displays verify the entries made on the MVP Control Panel by displaying
alpha, numeric and graphic confirmations of those entries. If any programming, selection or activation
function is not properly completed within three seconds of the last key entry, both the display and the
function will time out and clear. The display will also clear from the MVP Control Module window after a
Chain Selection Button (on a Dual Chain Module or Feature Module) is pressed. The displayed selection
number then transfers to the selected Chain display clearing the main MVP Control Panel display for the
next entry.
A/B Compare –
Enables the user to toggle between two component systems for comparison. Store a complete combination
of components under button ‘A’; store a variation of ‘System A’ or a completely different system under
button ‘B’; then by alternately pressing the “Compare” A and B buttons you can toggle between Systems. A/
B Compare is designed to be programmed during a demonstration, since it can easily be changed to satisfy
the interests of each new customer. (See page 112 for operation.)
System 1–30 –
Thirty different combinations of audio/video components can be stored with the recall numbers 1 through
30. This feature can be used for storing frequently sold components or systems, advertised and in-store
specials, loss leaders, etc. Stored systems can be activated with two or three key strokes. (See page 113 for
operation.) System 30 is the default system when the Inactivity feature is engaged. When System 30 is not
programmed, the MVP Control Panel will be idle.
