This feature can be used only between the Master unit and the Backup Master unit. If a SIP CO line is
specified as a backup at a site other than the Backup Master unit (including the Master unit), the setting is
ignored.

3.1.2 BGM (Background Music)
Description
A proprietary telephone (PT) user can listen to background music (BGM) through the built-in speaker while
on-hook and idle. The following audio sources are available for BGM:
External Music Source
Internal Music Source
BGM—External:
BGM can also be broadcast in the office through external pagers (loudspeakers) and can be turned on and off
by an extension assigned as a manager.
Conditions

Hardware requirement: User-supplied music source (when an external music source is assigned)
The music heard through the PT is interrupted when going off-hook.
Each extension user can select the audio source.
Through system programming, it is possible to specify the maximum number of IP-PTs that can
simultaneously perform the BGM feature. Changing this setting may affect the number of simultaneous IP
extension and IP CO line calls available on the mother board.

External pagers can be used with the following priorities:
Trunk Answer From Any Station (TAFAS) ® Paging ® BGM
