DYNAMIC BRAKING
SETUP::MOTOR CONTROL::DYNAMIC BRAKING
Designed for all Motor Control Modes.
The dynamic braking function block controls the rate at which energy from a regenerating motor is dumped into a resistive
load. This dumping prevents the dc link voltage reaching levels which would cause an Overvoltage trip.
Parameter Descriptions
ENABLE
PREF: 99.01 Default: TRUE Range: FALSE / TRUE
Enables operation of the dynamic braking block.
BRAKE RESISTANCE
PREF: 99.03 Default: 100.00 Ohm Range:0.01 to 300.00 Ohm
The value of the dynamic braking load resistance.
BRAKE POWER
PREF: 99.04 Default: 0.1 kW Range: 0.1 to 510.0 kW
The power that the load resistance may continually dissipate.
1SEC OVER RATING
PREF: 99.05 Default: 25 Range: 1 to 40
Multiplier that may be applied to BRAKE POWER for power overloads lasting no more than 1 second.
INT DB RESISTOR
PREF: 99.07 Default: TRUE Range: FALSE / TRUE
For futrue use only. Set to FALSE if an external dynamic brake resistor is fitted.
BRAKING
PREF: 99.06 Default: FALSE Range: FALSE / TRUE
A read-only parameter indicating the state of the brake switch.
