In S/N’s 2842064 and up, single or dual Garmin GNS-430 COM/NAV/GPS systems may be installed.
Each installation consists of the GNS-430 transceiver/display unit, associated wiring, and antennas.
A. Maintenance
Maintenance of the GNS-430 is “on condition” only and, with the exception of swapping complete
units, should be performed only by a qualified avionics shop in accordance with the GARMIN Series
400 Maintenance Manual (Garmin P/N - 190-00140-05).
Information provided in this manual is intended solely to aid the removal and installation of the
GNS-430 transceiver/display units, their associated wiring and antennas.

(1) Aircraft Preparation and Configuration
Setup and preliminary checks may be made using the aircraft battery or external power
supplied by an external power source. Final checks (CDI/HSI accuracy) should be made with
the engine running and the aircraft configured in Chart 1.
