(b) Adjustment
1 Turn ON the power supply and verify supply voltage with the multimeter. Voltage
should be between 24-30 volts for 28Vdc power supply.
2 Turn the instrument power switch to the ON position. Verify that the RED warning
light illuminates and no radiated light emitted from the probe.
3 Place the probe in a dark area.
4 Slowly turn the sensitivity adjustment knob clockwise until the RED warning light
extinguishes.
5 Verify that the sensitivity setting is below 7 (nominal readings are between 4 and 7).
To optimize probe sensitivity, adjust the light sensor so it faces directly towards the
probe radiated light source.
6 Repeat steps (3) through (5) until optimum sensitivity is achieved.
7 Return the sensitivity adjustment knob back to full counter-clockwise (CCW) position.

Turn the instrument power switch to the OFF position.
(c) Procedure
1
Place the probe in an area without direct light.
2 Turn the instrument power switch to the ON position.

Turn the sensitivity adjustment knob clockwise (CW) until the RED warning light
extinguishes.
4
Place an object (i.e.: a piece of paper) between the probe’s radiated light source and
the light sensor.
5 Verify that the RED warning light illuminates.
6
Remove the object from the probe.
7 Verify that the RED warning light extinguishes.
8
Set the instrument power switch to the OFF position.
9 Set the power supply power switch to the OFF position.

Disassemble test setup.
