18.Install a new O-ring

on each shift shaft. Apply a
small amount of white lithium grease on the O-rings,
shift shafts and component contact surfaces prior to
installing the sector cover.
19.Clean the transmission and gear sector cover mating
surfaces thoroughly.
20.Apply Loctite® 680 Sealant (Commercially available)
onto the cover and transmission case mating surface.
21.Install the sector cover and align the transmission
case dowel

with the alignment hole. Install and
torque the bolts to specification.
TORQUE
Sector Cover Bolts:
10 ft-lbs (14 Nm)
Fill / Drain Plug:
12 ft-lbs (16 Nm)
Bell Crank Nut:
14 ft-lbs (19 Nm)
22.Install the transmission drain plug and torque to
specification.
23.Install the bellcrank onto the shift shaft. Note the key
splined on the bellcrank and shift shaft. Install the nut
and torque to specification.
24.Refer to Transmission Installation page to
complete the repair.
