DRIVE CLUTCH SERVICE
DISASSEMBLY
CAUTION
The clutch assembly is a precisely balanced unit. Never
replace parts with used parts from another clutch
assembly!
1. Using a permanent marker, mark the cover, spider,
and moveable sheave for reference, as the cast in X's
may not have been in alignment before disassembly.
2. Remove cover bolts

3. Remove the clutch spring

4. Remove the spider assembly. If the spider cannot be
removed by hand, use a conventional 3-jaw puller as
shown to remove the spider from the clutch assembly.
IMPORTANT
Do not pull on the outer fingers of the spider or damage
may occur. Position 3 jaw puller in the positions shown

.
5. Perform Drive Clutch Inspection. Refer to Drive
Clutch Inspection page 6.17.
