5. Remove the torsion spring retainer

from the top of the ring gear.
6. Remove the clutch housing / ring gear and roll cage
assembly

from the gearcase housing. With the ring
gear removed inspect the ring gear roll pin and
ensure that it is seated correctly.
7. Remove the RH output hub assembly

from the
gearcase housing.
8. Remove pinion seal
o
, internal retaining ring

, and
pinion gear assembly
s
from the gearcase housing.
Inspect and clean the gearcase housing and replace
all oil seals and O-rings.
9. Inspect the pinion gear
s
for chipped, broken or
missing teeth. Inspect the pinion bearing for signs of
wear and the pinion shaft seal surface for pitting.
