5.13 SETTING REMOTE PORT PARAMETERS (SIO Group)
The IMUX 2000 remote port is an RS-232-compatible serial interface. The Serial Input/Output (SIO)
group contains settings for the remote port's baud rate and parity. It also contains settings for locking
and unlocking the remote access lock. This can be used to unlock the remote port locally if the remote
access password is lost.
The IMUX 2000 SIO group functions are summarized in Table 5-10. Refer to Section 7 of this manual
for details on the remote access and control features available.

exit When exit is displayed, press up on the SET/NEXT switch to exit the BAUD subgroup
and display the PAR funct
ion.
PAR Spac Space: no parity, all parity bits set to zero.
Mark Mark; no parity, all parity bits set to one.
Even Even parity; each parity bit set so that the total number of ones in each data byte
(including the parity bit) is even.
Odd Odd parity; each parity bit set so that the total number of ones in each data byte
(including the parity bit) is odd.
exit When exit is displayed, press up on the SET/NEXT switch to exit the BAUD subgroup
and display the PAR funct
ion.
When the Lock function is displayed, press up twice on the SET/NEXT switch to toggle Lock - - -
the state of the remote port between locked and unloc
ked. The green part of the
ON/OFF indicator will light when the port is locked; the red part will light
when the port is unlocked.
To exit the Lo

k function and display the Baud subgroup, press down on the SET/NEXT
switch. To exit the SIO group entirely, press up or down on the GROUP switch.
Univ - - - (Univ = universal addressing) When the Univ function is displayed, press up twice on the
SET/NEXT switch to toggle the state of the remo
te port between Univ “ON” and Univ
“OFF”. The green part of the ON/OFF indicator will light when Univ is “ON”; the red
part will light when Univ is “OFF”.
To exit the Univ function and display the Baud subgroup, press down on the SET/NEXT
switch. To exit the SIO group entirely, press up or down on the GROUP switch.
NOTE: The remote port always operates using seven data bits, one parity bit, and one stop bit.
These parameters cannot
be changed by the user.
