8.2.2 MOUNTING
After unpacking, IMUX 2000 equipment must be securely mounted. Two different procedures are
provided below: one for Main Shelves, and one for Repeater Shelves.
8.2.2.1 Main Shelf
IMUX 2000 Main Shelves are normally shipped pre-configured, with common and channel modules
already installed. Except for the power supplies, all modules and Module Adapters can remain installed
while the Main Shelf is bolted into its equipment rack.
1. Remove all power supplies from the Main Shelf.
2. Make sure all remaining modules and Module Adapters are seated properly.
3. Bolt the Main Shelf into its 19-inch equipment rack.
8.2.2.2 Repeater Shelf
Normally, install the optional Repeater Shelf just below the Main Shelf in the same equipment rack.
No space is required between the two shelves. However, if there is room in the rack, leave one
mounting space (1.75 inches) between the two shelves for additional cooling.
1. Remove any power supplies from the Repeater Shelf.
2. Make sure all remaining modules and Module Adapters are seated properly.
3. Bolt the Repeater Shelf into its equipment rack.
4. Connect the Repeater Signal cable between the “BUS OUT” connector on the Main Shelf and
the “BUS IN” connector on the Repeater Shelf. These connectors are located on the MA-500
Bus Repeater Module Adapter at the rear left of the shelf. (See Figure 8-1.)
