5.21.3.1 Example 1: Changing the E1 Jitter Buffer Depth from J32 to J128
1. Enter the supplementary configuration group as shown in paragraph 5.21.2 and then
press down on the SET/NEXT switch until the desired subgroup (in this case, JBUF)
appears on the display.
2. Press up once on the SET/NEXT switch. The display changes to show the first function
in the group, Joff. Because this is the currently selected function, the green portion of
the adjacent bi-level LED lights up.
3. Press down repeatedly on the SET/NEXT switch. The display cycles through the
functions of the JBUF group. When the display reaches the desired setting (J128),
release the switch. The red portion of the bi-level LED lights, indicating that this
function is not currently selected.
4. Press up twice on the SET/NEXT switch. After the first press, the green portion of the
bi-level LED begins to blink; after the second press, the green LED stays on steadily,
indicating that this setting is now active.
5. To reach the next subgroup, press down repeatedly on the SET/NEXT switch until the
display shows exit, then press up once on the SET/NEXT switch. You may now cycle
through the supplementary configuration subgroups by pressing down repeatedly on the
SET/NEXT switch. To leave the supplementary configuration group altogether and
return to the main menu, press down once on the GROUP switch.
5.21.3.2 Example 2: Invoking the Framer Chip Reset
1. Enter the supplementary configuration group as shown in paragraph 5.21.2 and then
press down on the SET/NEXT switch until the desired subgroup (in this case, Rfrm)
appears on the display.
2. Press up twice on the SET/NEXT switch. After the first press, the green portion of the
bi-level LED begins to blink; at the second press, the reset is activated.
NOTE: This is the same for Rcht and Rcpu; Rfrm, Rcht and Rcpu are functionally
equivalent to momentary contact switches.
3. To reach the next subgroup, press down once on the SET/NEXT switch. You may now
cycle through the supplementary configuration subgroups by pressing down repeatedly
on the SET/NEXT switch. To leave the supplementary configuration group altogether
and return to the main menu, press down once on the GROUP switch.
NOTE: See Figures 2-22 and 5-18 for flow charts showing all available CM4
standard and supplementary groups and functions.
