IMUX 2000
FALLBACK TIMING
OVERVIEW.
Common Modules of an IMUX system continuously monitor the quality of recovered sync of the
incoming T1 signal in order to assure that a proper clock is used. If loss of sync is detected by a Common
Module, an alternate source of timing may be selected.
This alternate source of timing is
referred to as
fallback and is set as FTIME parameter by the front
panel switch from the Diagnostic Group.
During the design of the network, when determining the source of fallback timing, one should consider
the network layout and whether DACS or ILS modules are used.
