3.1.7.7 Setting configuration parameters.
The RFL Network Management Software (NMS) provides facilities to set all configuration parameters
described above and to retrieve the status of modules and shelf.
This is accomplished through a system of menus and value tables. Refer to Section 6 for a description
of NMS, and for further details about using this method to manage a CM4.
In addition, a terminal-emulation program operating on a computer connected to RS-232 user port can
be used for that purpose, as described below. Refer to Remote Configuration in Section 7.
Remote Status Reporting.
The basic status inquiry is issued in format:
<address>:<subaddress>:STATUS?:;
where <address> is the node address number,
<subaddress> is TERM or DI-A, as required.
To retrieve enhancements related to redundant operation, an expanded status report may be obtained
by:
<address>:<subaddress>:STATUS2?;
Remote Configuration Reporting.
The basic configuration inquiry is issued in format:
<address>:<subaddress>:CONFIG?:;
New settings related to redundant operation (SWITCH, MAIN, CSU, etc.) are reported in response to
the second-level inquiry:
<address>:<subaddress>:CONFIG2?:;
Forced-switch configuration parameters.
Using a network management link, the forced-switch parameter can be programmed by RFL NMS or
with SCL commands in format:
<address>:<subaddress>:SET:SWITCH=[MAIN,STANDBY,AUTO];
Main On/Off parameter is set by:
<address>:<subaddress>:SET:MAIN=[OFF,ON];
Swap Delay.
<address>:<subaddress>:SET:SWAP=[0.6,1.2,2.4,4.8,9.6,19];
