3.1.7 REDUNDANT MODE CONTROL, CONFIGURATION & DIAGNOSTICS.
The CM4 Common Module uses certain commands and controls, which are specific to redundant
protection.
3.1.7.1 Front-panel mode slide switch.
The CM4 has a front-panel mode slide switch which is operational only on the Standby Module. This
switch either forces the Main or the Standby module to become active, or allows automatic switchover
(swap) operation. The location of the switch is shown in Figure 3-6.
This switch has top-most priority, and will override any other consideration, such as whether the
desired active module is actually operating properly or if it even exists.
The available switch selections are “MAIN” (activate Main Module), “STBY” (activate Standby
Module) or “AUTO” (allow automatic operation).
