10.2.2 Process data and process images
Process image
The process image is used for buffering input and output data. When the control system
starts cyclic program execution, the signal states of the compact starter are transferred to the
process input image of the higher-level control system. At the end of the cyclic program, the
process output image is transferred to the compact starter as the signal state.
