MAINTENANCE
Each transmission chain of the following parts should be LUBRICATED:
- Transfer box in models equipped with automatic gearbox (Fig. 9.8).
- Transmission chains in models equipped with non-automatic gearbox (Fig. 9.9).
- Transfer box in insecticide/helicide micro granulators and fertilizing equipments (Fig. 9.10
and Fig. 9.11).
- Transmission chains of each metering unit (Fig. 9.12).
ALWAYS USE HIGH PERFORMANCE OIL TO GET A RELIABLE LUBRICATION.
Every roller’s chain should be properly lubricated after nishing the sowing season as well as after a
long period of time without using the planter.
Some transmission protectors have
quick access points for the chain lu-
brication (Fig. 9.13). When lubricating
through these quick access points, raise
the machine and turn the transmission
by turning manually the drive wheels.
Make sure that the whole unit has been
impregnated with the lubricant. Howe-
ver, it is recommended to rst remove
the chain protectors, next lubricate and
nally place the protector back. In this
way we make sure that the lubrication is
performed properly.
