The Rapid Shutdown Slaves (PLC receivers) that receive these PLC signals are embedded in
the RSD boxes on the roof. An RSD signal initiates a rapid shutdown function when triggered
by the Fireman Switch located either beside the main panel or by the DC Disconnect Switch.

Note: The Fireman Switch may be mounted near the main panel, and the
lines from the Fireman Switch will often share the same 1” conduit with
the AC Grid lines, as shown in Figure 3-14. If the Fireman Switch is
mounted underneath the wiring box, then it may use a dedicated
1/2” conduit.
