8 - Basic Operation

This section describes how perform basic SolarCity H6 inverter operations (power on/off,

bypass) and provides basic information about the various power flow modes in which the

inverter can operate.

8.1 - Powering On the Inverter

To power on the SolarCity H6 inverter:

1. At the main electrical panel, turn the dedicated back-feed circuit breaker and/or

external AC disconnect to the ON (closed) position.

2. Remove the padlock from the DC Disconnect Switch (if any).

3. Turn the DC Disconnect Switch to the ON position.

4. Verify that all three (3) LEDs illuminate for a moment.

5. At the inverter, place the AC Bypass Switch in the INV position.

6. Move the breaker(s) in the backup load panel to the ON (closed) position.

7. Follow the directions in

“Commissioning” on page 83

to complete the setup process that

will allow the SolarCity H6 inverter to begin feeding power to the grid and/or charging the

battery pack.
