Creating Account Limitations
The Account Limitation Builder application allows you to create and customize
account limitations for the Orion Web Console. These limitations ensure that users of
the web console can only view the network objects that are pertinent to their job
duties. The following are but a few examples of the uses of account limitation in the
Orion Web Console:
n Limit customer views to specific network nodes
n Limit views by department or functional area
n Limit views by device type or device role
n Limit views based on the geographic location of devices
SolarWinds UDT provides predefined account limitations that use built-in SolarWinds
UDT property to limit user access. For greater flexibility, however, you can use the
Account Limitation Builder to create your own account limitations based on
predefined or custom properties. For more information about enabling account
limitations in the Orion Web Console, see "Setting Account Limitations." For more
information about custom properties, see "Creating Custom Properties"

Using the Account Limitation Builder
Before you can use the Account Limitation Builder, you must have first created the
custom property that you want to use to limit the User Device Tracker Web Console
view. For more information, see "Creating Custom Properties" After you have defined
custom properties and populated them with data, you may use the Account
Limitations Builder as directed in the following procedure.
