Operating the service brake

– Slow the truck by taking your foot off the
accelerator pedal (2).
– If the resultant braking action is not suffi-
cient, use the footbrake (1) as well.
In the first section of the pedal’s travel, only
the electric brake takes effect; as the pedal
is depressed further, the mechanical brake is
activated and acts on the drive wheels.
DANGER
Risk of accident!
If the service brake fails, the truck must be brought
to a stop by operating the parking brake.
