2.7 How to track difficult media
Some cutting media is not designed for use on a drum driven plotter. In most cases the
cause is a none rigid backing. A possible solution for this problem is using paneling. The
option paneling divides the whole job into panels in the media direction.
It then cuts out panel after panel making sure it does not have to transport the media back
and forth over long distances.
NOTE: Paneling has been developed in order to achieve better closing of figures on
material which is difficult to track accurately. It does NOT mean however that with paneling
these materials can be cut within the regular Summa specifications of tracking and
accuracy. Recommended panel sizes are between 5 – 10 cm
