New Messages Notification
Depending on your notification settings, the phone will play a ringtone, vibrate when you receive a new
text or multimedia message. To change the notification for new text and multimedia messages, see Text
and MMS Options for details.
A new message icon also appears in the notifications area of the status bar to notify you of a new text
or multimedia message. The Messages application icon (if shown on the home screen) also displays
a dot to notify new messages.
To open the message, press the Right Soft Key to enter the Messages.
Manage Message Conversations
Text and multimedia messages that are sent to and received from a contact (or a number) are grouped
into conversations or message threads in the Messages screen. Text or MMS conversations let you see
exchanged messages (similar to a chat program) with a contact on the screen.
Read a Text Message
To read a text message, perform one of the following:
On the Messages screen, select the text message or conversation to open and read it.
If you have a new message notification, press the Left Soft Key from the home screen to display the
Notifications panel. Select the new message to open and read it.
To return to the Messages screen from a conversation, press the Return Key.
View a Multimedia Message (MMS)
1.
On the Messages screen, select a multimedia message or conversation to open it.
2.
Select the attachment to open it.
Reply to a Message
1.
On the Messages screen, select a conversation to open it.
2.
Select the text box at the bottom of the screen, enter your reply message, and then select Send.
Note: To reply to a text message with a multimedia message, open the text message, select Attach .
The text message is automatically converted into a multimedia message.
Delete Conversations
1.
On the Messages screen, select Options > Delete thread.
2.
Select DELETE to confirm.
Delete a Single Message
1.
While viewing a conversation, select the message that you want to delete.
2.
Select Delete on the options menu.
