Air Filter Assembly (Diesel)
Removal and Installation
See Figures 3-8 through 3-11.

CAUTION
NOTES
• The air filter on this engine is a dry type; never apply
oil to it.
• The dust cap should be removed and cleaned daily
in dusty conditions.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)

NOTE
Note orientation of air inlet (3) before removing air filter
dust cap (2) to ensure correct installation.
2. Release retaining clips (1) and remove air filter dust
cap (2).
3. Using damp, lint-free cloth, thoroughly clean the
inside of the dust cap.

4. Slide air filter (4) out of the assembly.
5. Raise the hydraulic oil/fuel tank. (See “Raise
Hydraulic Oil/Fuel Tank” on page 9-4.)

6. Remove two screws (5) and flat washers (6), and
disconnect air filter assembly (7).
• Do not open the air filter assembly for
inspection or cleaning. Unnecessary removal
of the air filter increases the risk of injecting
dust and other impurities into the engine.
• Do not remove air filter with engine running.
