Backlap Switch Test
See Figure 4-22.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Rotate seat forward. (See “Rotate Seat Forward” on
page 9-4.)
3. Remove backlap switch. (See “Backlap Switch” on
page 4-56.)
4. Set the meter to read ohms.
5. Touch meter leads to each other and confirm a
resistance value of 0.0 ohms.

6. Measure the resistance between terminals (2 and 3).
Is the resistance value 0.02 ohm or less?
YES Proceed to step 7.
NO The backlap switch is faulty; replace the
backlap switch.
7. Depress and hold the plunger ball (1) on the backlap
switch.
8. Measure the resistance between terminals (2 and 3).
Is the resistance value 0.02 ohm or less?
YES The backlap switch is faulty; replace the
backlap switch.
NO The backlap switch is good.
Horn Switch Test
See Figure 4-23.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Remove horn switch. (See “Horn Switch” on
page 4-54.)
3. Set the meter to read ohms.
4. Touch meter leads to each other and confirm a
resistance value of 0.0 ohms.

NOTE
The horn switch is normally in the off position.
5. Measure the resistance between terminals (1 and 2).
Is the resistance value 0.02 ohm or less?
YES The horn switch is faulty; replace the horn
switch.
NO Proceed to step 7.
6. Depress and hold horn switch in the on position.
7. Measure the resistance between terminals (1 and 2).
Is the resistance value 0.02 ohm or less?
YES The horn switch is good.
NO The horn switch is faulty; replace the horn
switch.
