12. Press [OK] on the screen of step
11 to define the baseline. <Set-out
line> is displayed. Move to setting-
line measurement.

•Press [Sy=1] to set scale factor
y to “1”.
•Press [1 : **] to change the
grade display mode to “1 : * * =
elevation: horizontal distance”.
• It is also possible to perform setting-out line measurement by pressing [S-O
LINE] when allocated to the OBS mode screen.

PROCEDURE Defining by observation
1. In the second page of OBS mode
screen, press [MENU], then select
"S-O line".
2. Enter the instrument station data.

3. Select “Define baseline” in <Set-
out line>.
4. Sight the first point and press
[MEAS].
•Press [STOP] to stop the
measurement.
• The tilt screen is displayed if the
instrument is out of level.
