Motion Coordinator MC206
Communications
The MC206 offers wide communications capability with two RS-232 serial ports,
an RS-485 port, a TTL serial port, a USB port and a CAN channel as standard.
Adapters are available to convert the TTL port to Trio’s fibre-optic network.
RS-232 port #1, or RS-485 port #2 may be configured to run the MODBUS protocol
for PLC or HMI interfacing.
If the built-in CAN channel is not used for connecting I/O modules, it may option-
ally be used for CAN communications.
USB and Profibus daughter boards may be fitted to provide additional communi-
cations options.
Removable Storage
A memory stick used with the MC206 allows a
simple means of transferring programs without
a PC connection. Offering the OEM easy
machine replication and servicing.
The memory stick is ordered separately from
the MC206 if required (order code: P398).
Writing Programs to FlashStick

Programs will be copied on power up or
EX
from the FlashStick into the Motion
Coordinator if a FlashStick is inserted and the controller is not locked.
If a FlashStick is inserted and the controller is unlocked the action taken depends
on the
POWER_UP
system variable in the controller and the EPROM request bit on
the FlashStick:
EPROM(1)
Writes programs to FlashStick and clears EPROM request bit on Flash-
Stick
EPROM(2)
Writes programs to FlashStick and sets EPROM request bit on Flash-
Stick

Lists a directory of FlashStick and prints EPROM request status
