The SERCOS daughter board is designed to control up to 8 servo amplifiers
using the standard SERCOS fibre-optic ring. It has the benefit of full isolation
from the drives and greatly reduces the wiring required.
SERCOS Connections
SERCOS is connected by 1mm polymer or glass fibre optic cable terminated
with 9mm FSMA connectors. The connectors on the daughter board and the
drives in the network are colour-coded and the ring is completed by connect-
ing light-grey (Tx) to dark-grey (Rx) in a series loop.
LED Indicator
The red LED lights to indicate that the ring is open or there is excessive distor-
tion in the signal.
