Gross Leak
A gross leak is detected when pressure
drops below the negative pressure error
during stabilization time. Figure 47.
When a gross leak is detected, Sprint
LC stops the test and shows GROSS in
the status box on the run display.
A gross leak is generally caused by a
product having a severe defect or
because external fixtures are not sealing
the product. Repeatedly getting gross
error messages when neither the product
nor the fixture seals appear to be the
problem; consider increasing the fill time, the pressure error tolerance, or
both. Also at fault could be the test pressure setting. Make sure the
pressure regulator has not been moved and the actual applied pressure
closely matches the preset test pressure.
