4. Carefully remove the filter material once a year, and clean and replace the filter and the
cap.
5. To ensure accurate operation, clean the spoon of dust and dirt once or twice a year.
6. Remove and clean any dirt from the bucket.
7. Check that the gauge is still level.
The gauge can become tilted as a result of small ground movements, such as frost, or
vandalism.
8. If the rain gauge is disconnected from the station or does not log data, check the
balance arm of the bucket for
stiness.
To perform the check, try to balance the bucket in its center position. If the bucket
balances easily, examine the bucket closely for any dirt or wear on the pivot pin and
bucket tubes.
5.10.1
Adding RG13(H) to System
Before configuring the new sensor, complete the mechanical installation.
1. In AWS Client, select Settings > Parameters > Static.
2. In the CFG parameter set, select RG13.
3. To enable the sensor, type 1 in the Value
field, and select Save.
4. Set the resolution for the sensor.
a. In the Precipitation parameter set, select RGResolution.
b. In the Value
field, type the resolution in mm.
c. Select Save.
5. In the PR_accum_Selector parameter set, select the sensor to use for precipitation
accumulation calculation.
• 1 = RG13(H)
• 2 = OTT Pluvio 2 L
6. To activate the new
configuration, reset the QML data logger. Select Maintenance >
Reset > Immediate.

• To make sure the collecting bucket moves freely in all directions at the lower bucket
orifice edge, with the pipe housing closed, tap the inside of the bucket sideways to
move it slightly. The upper bucket edge must not come into contact with the housing.
