5.9.2 Sending HMP155 for Calibration
Once a year, or if the sensor readings seem inaccurate, send HMP155 to Vaisala for
calibration. Replace it with a calibrated spare probe, if available, or wait until Vaisala sends
the probe back from calibration.
1. Remove the probe from inside the radiation shield.
2. Send the probe to Vaisala for calibration.
3. Check the operation of the calibrated probe by warming the sensor head with your
hand, and monitor the value change.
4. Place the calibrated probe inside the radiation shield.
5.9.3 Adding HMP155 to System
Before configuring the new sensor, complete the mechanical installation.
1. In AWS Client, select Settings > Parameters > Static.
2. In the CFG parameter set, select HMP155 (serial sensor) or HMP155_ANL (analog
sensor).
3. To enable the sensor, type 1 in the Value
field, and select Save.
4. In the RH_Selector parameter set, select the relative humidity sensor to use.
• 1 = HMP155 (serial)
• 2 = HMP155 (analog)
5. In the TA_Selector parameter set, select the air temperature sensor to use.
• 1 = HMP155 (serial)
• 2 = HMP155 (analog)
6. To activate the new
configuration, reset the QML data logger. Select Maintenance >
Reset > Immediate.

RG13(H) Maintenance
To ensure accurate operation, keep the sensor clean. Clean the sensor at least every
6 months. When leaves are falling and there is a lot of debris in circulation, check the sensor
more often.
To avoid erroneous measurements, avoid tipping the cup assembly when the gauge is
connected to the weather station and the station is operating.
To ensure reliable and accurate measurements, Vaisala recommends you to carry out the
following checks at each visit to the rain gauge.
1. Inspect the funnel and
filter for any damage or blockage.
2. Remove any obstacles from the funnel, such as leaves, debris, dirt, and dust.
3. Clean the
filter by removing the end cap from the filter tube.
