4. If you cannot use the COM1 port, connect the maintenance cable to any free COM port
on your computer.
a. To make sure that the serial port is free for software loading, close the service
connection.
b. Close all other Windows programs.
c. Open a text editor and create a .bat file.
d. Type the following content to the file:
loader
The name of the program.
-s<bit rate>
The bit rate used for the maintenance connection. The default value is 38400.
For example, -s115200.
p<COM port>
The COM port used for the connection. For example, pCOM3.
e. Execute the .bat file.
The Command Prompt window shows Waiting.
5. Reset the QML data logger.
After a few minutes, the display shows Loading 100%. The program restarts with an existing
setup, and the weather station is ready to operate.
If you have problems loading the software (for example, the loading is interrupted and you
get an error message Load Error −1, try again with all other Windows programs closed
except Command Prompt.
The loading may be interrupted due to a corrupted bin.mot
file, or due to power save
features, especially when a laptop is used.
