B-18 Videojet DataFlex 6530 Service Manual - Rev AA
AllowedCharacters
This optional attribute applies to variable and counter fields. It contains a list of the characters
that the user may enter in this field. If there is no AllowedCharacters attribute for a field, then
the user may enter any character for this field.
The AllowedCharacters attribute is in the form of a comma delimited list of the acceptable
characters, with a “-” used to denote ranges. For example, if the field is limited to entering digits
and the letters A, C and F, the attribute would contain “0-9,A,C,F”.
UserList
This optional attribute applies to variable fields that are configured to be “User Lists” in the
image design. “User Lists” present the operator with a finite number of options to choose from
those that are configured at design time. The value of the attribute links to a UserList tag that is
included in the file that has a Name attribute with exactly the same value. The UserList tag
contains a number of Item tags, each of these contain one of the valid values for the field. When a
CIFF data file is sent to select a job with a User List field, CLARiTY checks whether the value for
the field is a valid item for the field based on the items in the original job file.
MaximumCharacters
This attribute applies to variable and counter fields. It contains the maximum number of
characters that may be entered for the field. This attribute is present for all field elements.
StartValue
This attribute applies to counter fields. Counter fields count from a start value up to an end
value. The start value is the lower end of the range of acceptable values for the count.
EndValue
This attribute applies to counter fields. Counter fields count from a start value up to an end
value. The end value is the upper end of the range of acceptable values for the count.
DecimalPlaces
This attribute applies to Price Fields. This indicates the number of decimal places used in the
currency represented by the Price Field. The default value of 2 applies to most currencies (e.g.
$0.99, £0.99, €0.99). The value of the <Price> tag, as well as the @Min and @Max attributes of the
price tag is formatted and interpreted in the context of this value.
