If an error occurs while performing any function, an “advisory”
message displays. Choose Exit to return to the ECM Special
Functions menu.
Engine Speed Control
The Engine Speed Control function lets you increase or decrease engine
speed from a base commanded RPM in 25 RPM increments.
1. Select Engine Speed Control in the ECM Special Functions menu,
then press ENTER .
n An “instructional” screen displays. Prepare the vehicle for test as
directed:
- Set the parking brake.
- Block all drive wheels.
- Start and idle the engine.
2. Choose Next to continue.
n Engine speed is commanded to 550
RPM and the RPM Control test
screen displays.
n The screen shows the Commanded
RPM, actual Engine Speed, and the
Desired Idle Speed.
3. Choose Decrease 25 RPM or Increase
25 RPM, as desired, to decrease or
increase engine speed, and observe
results on the display.
4. To exit the test, press ENTER to reduce the commanded engine
speed to 0 RPM, then press ENTER again to return to the ECM
Special Functions menu.
