SYSTEM/ACTUATOR TESTS

n The screen shows the current Target Idle Speed, Engine Speed,
MAP Vacuum, Throttle Blade Position, Spark Advance and
Engine Coolant Temperature.
4. If desired, choose Reselect to return to the Select RPM screen, and
repeat step 3 to select a new engine speed.
5. Choose Finish to return to the Special Functions menu.
Set Engine RPM System Test
The Set Engine RPM System Test lets you set engine speed to a
specified value.
1. Select Set Engine RPM System Test in the Special Functions menu,
then press ENTER .
n An “instructional” screen displays. Prepare the vehicle for test as
directed:
- Start and idle the engine.
2. Choose Yes to continue.
n A “status” screen displays while a vehicle status check is
performed.
n The Select RPM screen displays.
3. Select the desired RPM value (Idle to 1200 RPM), as desired, then
press ENTER .
n The Test Results screen displays.
n The screen shows the current
Target Idle Speed, Engine Speed,
MAP Vacuum, Throttle Blade 1
Position, Throttle Blade 2
Position, Spark Advance and
Engine Coolant Temperature.
4. If desired, choose Reselect to return to
the Select RPM screen, and repeat step
3 to select a new engine speed.
5. Choose Finish to return to the Special Functions menu.
Leak Detection Pump (LDP) Test
1. Select Leak Detection Pump (LDP) Test in the Special Functions
menu, then press ENTER .
n An “instructional” screen displays. Prepare the vehicle for test as
directed.
- Disconnect the purge solenoid electrical connector.
- Start and idle the engine.
2. Choose Yes to continue.
