Throttle Position
The Throttle Position function lets you increase or decrease throttle
position from the null (idle) state.
1. Select Throttle Position in the ECM Special Functions menu, then
press ENTER .
n A “status” message shows while the
tool links with the control unit. When
a link is established with the control
unit, the Throttle Position test screen
displays.
n The screen shows the Commanded
State of the throttle, the TP Desired
Angle, and the TP Indicated Angle.
2. Choose Decrease or Increase, as desired, to decrease or increase
the throttle position angle, and observe results on the display.
3. Press ENTER to return to the ECM Special Functions menu.
Throttle Sweep
The Throttle Sweep function automatically moves the throttle from the null
(idle) state to wide open throttle.
1. Select Throttle Sweep in the ECM Special Functions menu, then
press ENTER .
n An “instructional” screen displays. Prepare the vehicle for test as
directed:
- Turn the ignition on. DO NOT start the engine.
2. Choose Next to continue.
n The Throttle Sweep test screen
displays.
n The screen shows the throttle
Commanded State and current
values for the TAC Motor
Command, TP Sensor 1, TP
Sensor 2, TAC Motor and TP
Sensors 1 and 2.
3. Choose Start to begin the test and observe results on the display.
4. Choose Stop to end the test before wide open throttle is reached and
return the throttle to the null (idle) state.
5. Choose Exit to return to the ECM Special Functions menu.
Reset Idle Learn
The Reset Idle Learn function resets the idle learn values for TP sensors
1 and 2.
