3. A “confirmation” screen displays when
the test routine begins.
4. An “informational” screen displays, and
engine speed increases.
5. When engine speed returns to normal,
choose Finish to return to the Special
Functions menu.
Compression Test
1. Select Compression Test in the Special Functions menu, then press
ENTER .
n An “instructional” screen displays. Prepare the vehicle for test as
directed:
- Make sure the battery is fully charged.
- Turn the ignition on. DO NOT start the engine.
2. Choose Yes to continue.
n A “status” screen displays while a vehicle status check is
performed.
3. A “confirmation” screen displays when
the compression test begins.
n An “instructional” screen displays.
- Crank the engine.
n While the engine is cranked, the
screen shows Live Data for the
Average Engine RPM, Current
Injection Mass, and Engine RPM
for Cylinder 1 through Engine RPM
for Cylinder 8, as applicable.
4. Choose Finish to return to the Special Functions menu.
Cylinder Performance Test
The Cylinder Performance Test function lets you perform a cylinder
performance test.
1. Select Cylinder Performance Test in the Special Functions menu,
then press ENTER .
n An “instructional” screen displays. Prepare the vehicle for test as
directed:
- Start and idle the engine.
- Place the transmission in PARK.
2. Choose Yes to continue.
